Reisha Perlmutter

Reisha Perlmutter is a contemporary American painter known for her realistic depictions of nude women emerging from underwater. In her paintings, the artist explores notions of primal awareness and the need to be accepting of all body types. “Connecting with our bodies with a deeply physical awareness allows us to acknowledge all aspects of our physicality; our scars, our sickness, our health, and our beauty,” she has said. Born in 1990 in Naples, FL, she studied at Bates College in Lewiston, ME, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before receiving her MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2015.  She has gone on to exhibit her work both in the United States and abroad. Perlmutter currently lives and works in New York, NY.
